The reader follows our heroine, Ava Greene, as she comes of age into a life full of love, loss, and danger.  As she discovers her true path, her adventures will bring laughter, tears and moments of breathless anticipation.

We first meet Ava, a small-town girl living in Noblesville, Indiana, when she’s a junior in high school. Ava is captain of her swim team and has a boyfriend who adores her. Life quickly changes for Ava after she starts to experience some very interesting changes in her features and capabilities during the big championship race. Soon after, Ava is faced with a decision: leave the only home she has ever known, and her first love… or die. The race is on for Ava to reach a place called the Land School, where she will be safe and can begin her training to become her fullest self. Now we enter a new world—a world that contains powerful friends and extremely dangerous enemies. It is up to Ava and her new friends to confront mysterious dark forces and unite the races of the Sea, while defeating the evil that is hunting Ava down.
